What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Sansui TU-X701

The concept behind Sansui's new TU-X701 tuner is simple; it is designed to make interference - any interference -a thing of the past. Interference from powerful stations on alternate channels, interference by RF intermodulation, interference by multipath reflections - Sansui has overcome these and other sound-degrading problems with the new Super Linear Digital Decoder (SLDD), a revolutionary circuit designed to give you truly hi-fi sound.
SLDD
Enter Sansui's Super Linear Digital Decoder, it not only eliminates spurious frequencies, it does so without using an anti-birdie filter. The result; hi-fi reproduction from any station. Our SLDD shows its mettle when interference is so severe you would normally have to restrict the bandwidth to avoid it, thus setting for less than hi-fi sound. SLDD gives you access to the full bandwidth for true high fidelity.

FM Front-end.  Matched in performance with the SLDD
The front-end of the TU-X701 is as well-designed as its demodulator, it scores high in sensitivity, selectivity, intermodulation interference rejection and image rejection response. And it performs with a minimum of distortion and interference.
