What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

McIntosh MA 6300 amplifier

The MA6300 is the latest integrated amplifier, rich with all the premium technologies that McIntosh is famous for including Power Assurance System and Silent Electromagnetic Switching. With 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 160 watts per channel into 4 Ω loads, the MA6300 can effortlessly power virtually any speaker from one of seven source selections:  CD 1 and 2, Tuner, Phono, Tape, TV, and DVD

Featured in the MA6300 are ThermalTrak™ output transitors that instantly and accurately monitor their operating temperature and adjust bias as needed, resulting in low distortion at all power levels without excess heat. The MA6300 runs cooler than many integrated amplifiers even at peak levels.

The glass front panel is comprised of the distinctive :blue eyes" output meters along with controls for Balance, Volume, Mute, Standby/On, Headphone  and the seven Source Selection Buttons. The latest LED fiber-optic panel illumination is used. A turn on delay prevents pops or thumps generated in other equipment from causing annoying noises or damaging speakers.

Only McIntosh can combine two basic audio components into a single instrument and still retain traditional mcIntosh performance, quality and reliability. The MA6300 provides all of this in a more compact, space-saving configuration. Those considering a McIntosh system for the first time will find the MA6300 a very comfortable place to start.

Some MA6300 Performance Features :

Electronic Input Switching - Digital Logic integrated circuits drive Electromagnetic switches on all seven inputs and operating functions for reliable, noiseless, distortion free switching.

Balanced Input - Allows  the connection of a source component using long cable lengths, without a loss in sound quality.

R-Core  Power Transformer - A regulated power Supply and special R-Core power Transformer ensures stable noise free operation even when the AC power line varies

Power Guard - The patented McIntosh Power Guard circuit prevents the amplifier from being over driven into clipping with its harsh distorted sound that can also damage your valuable loudspeakers.

Sentry Monitor and Thermal Protection - McIntosh Sentry Monitor power output stage protection circuits ensure the MA6300 will have a long and trouble free operating life. Built-in thermal protection circuits guard against overheating.
