What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Sharp RT-3500C cassette deck

Stereo Cassette Deck with Dolby Noise Reduction and APFS system

Sharp's  newly developed unique Auto Program Find System.

Sharp's developed unique APFS finds the cue of every musical selection (non0signal part) on a music recorded tape. When the fast forward button is pushed while operating with the APFS switch ON, the tape stops at the beginning of the next musical selection automatically. When the rewind button is pushed while operating with the APFS switch ON, the tape returns to the beginning of the music and stops automatically. The APFS is ideal for the following purposes: When you want to select only a desired selection of music  on a recorded music tape; When you want to select the next musical selection during playback; When you want to repeat the same music..

Ultra-hard, High-quality MCF head

Long-life with excellent durability against abrasion is assured through employment of a strictly selected high density ferrite head; keeps efficiency semipermanently without deteriorating characteristics during long periods of use. Ideal shape and mirror finishing produced by a unique polishing technique assure extra smooth head surface. Produces steady high range characteristics, non-fluctuating low range characteristics and wide dynamic sound range. Also assures recording and playback with high grade sounf quality. Moreover shuts out external induction thanks to front shield structure.

Automatic changeover system for detecting CrO₂ tape

When a CrO₂ tape with additional sensing holes situated next to the breakout lug holes is inserted into the cassette chamber. Bias and Equalizer can be set automatically to the correct characteristics in recording and playback mode. Therefore, no manual operation of the CrO₂ tape selector switch is required. When using CrO₂ tapes of the old standard type, the CrO₂ tape selector must be used.

Dolby Noise Reduction System

The Dolby NR system is employed in the RT-3500C for reducing hiss noise. The noise reduction effect of the Dolby system, for example, is 10 dB at around 10 kHz. So annoying hiss noise doea not affect listening enjoyment. Thus, the Dolby system not only improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio , but correct cross modulating distortion remarkably, and assures unsurpassed quality stereo sound reproduction.

DC Servo Motor for Stable Rotation

The DC Servo Motor is employed for stable rotation in the unit. Assures recording and playback enjoyment without worrying about noise caused by vibration. Wow and Flutter and Power consumption are also reduced.
