The reason is Pioneer's use of a 8-inch woofer in each enclosure plus revolutionary L.B cone-paper. Smooth , Clean Highs

The CS-E400 speakers feature dome-type tweeters for high-range frequency reproduction. The sound is clean, precise, brilliant - just the way you'd expect it to be in speakers costing much more. The tweeter diaphragms are manufactured from quality animal fibres and a special treatment to increase intrnal loss. The treble reproduction is thus extremely natural with excellent directional characteristics.
