What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Technics SL-D202 turntable

Slimline Direct Drive Turntable

When you select a turntable, you're forging an important link in your stereo system. It is a bridge between the one dimensional, vinyl world of your records and the acoustic realm of listening pleasure. That's why Technics has taken great care in engineering the SL-D202 turntables. Designed with the slim, sleek look of today, both the SL-D202, combine direct drive technology with the superior craftsmanship that has become a Technics turntable tradition. These one of remarkably dependable turntables have many features in common. For example, there's the integral-rotor platter direct drive motor for smooth, silent rotation, and the gimbal suspension tonearm. And the SL-D202 have tachnics non-resonant compound (TNRC) base construction which stifles vibration. What's more, there are electronic soft-touch controls on the front panel. All this adds up to two turntables with built-in reliability.

Semi-Automatic Tonearm

If you don't need the convenience an automatic turntable has to offer, Technics has created this semi-automatic turntable, you manually place the tonearm and stylus at the lead-in groove of the record. However, the tonearm automatically returns to the armrest when the side of a record is completed.

Additional features:

Pitch Control with illuminated Stroboscope

Aluminum diecast support portions for gimbal suspension

Precise tracking force adjustment with fine adjustments in increments of 0,1 gram, and antiskating control

Single-molded, aluminum diecast headshell.

Headshell stand
