What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

JVC L-F71 turntable

Electro-Servo Fully Automatic Direct-Drive Turntable with Music Scan

Superb tracking and utmost operating convenience are happily and harmoniously combined in the L-F71 from JVC. E-D Servo damps arm resonance for better tracking, while applying anti-skating force accurately anywhere across the record surface. And for convenience, the JVC "Music Scan"  system automatically homes in on whatever track you've selected, there's nevere a need to touch the tonearm. Conveniences such as these weren't even thought possible just a few short years ago.

E-D Servo for horizontal arm movement; Damped resonance and accurate anti-skating.

By designing a straight, low-mass tonearm for the L-F71, we succeeded in damping arm resonance and subduing shock caused acoustic feedback. But we've made it still better by controlling its horizontal movement with JVC's exclusive E-D Servo. The L-F71 is totally and effectively protected against mistracking, coloration, poor bass response and poor stereo separation that can be caused by resonance.

JVC "Music Scan" for random cueing

Say you want to hear the third band on a record. Just push the Track button three times and then Start/Stop - the tonearm will automatically scoot over and set down exactly at the beginning of the third band and play through to the end of the record. Our special headshell houses an optical system that scans the record surface. An LED digital indicator tells you the number of the track being played at any given moment.

Computerized fully automatic operation via front-panel touch buttons.

Touch any of the operating buttons and the programmed to order microcomputer supervises the order of events flawlessly. Since the L-F71 is fully automatic, you need not touch the tonearm at any time. Up-front buttons are touch sensitive and may be operated even with the dust cover closed.

Smooth coreless DC servo motor and FG Super Servo

Our exclusive cog-free coreless DC servo motor and FG Super Servo speed control account for the superb performance of the L-F71.
