What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Nakamichi RX-303 cassette deck

Unidirectional Auto Reverse Cassette Deck

A 2-head , Closed-Loop Dual-Capstan record/playback auto reverse deck rivalling the RX-505 in top performance quality.

The RX-303 is designed with the same Unidirectional Auto reverse mechanism and high-precision transport employed in the RX-505, for exceptionally high reproduction quality. The RX-303 incorporates a triple laminated core Sendust record/playback head instead, yet provides wide, flat frequency response and extremely low distortion rivalling that of the Discrete Three-Head System. Low-noise, low-distortion amplifiers, the same as those used in the RX-505, ensure the finest possible reproduction performance, and the same Closed-Loop Dual-Capstan Transport silent mechanism guarantees incredibly accurate, stable tape travel characteristics. Extra operating control and convenience is provided with automatic fade-out and fade-in prior to and after the reverse operation, for smooth musical transistors between sides of a tape. A host of other features, combined with the outstanding reproduction quality of the Rx-303, make this deck a strong rival to the RX-505 in all-around performance.
