What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Harman/Kardon CD301 cassette deck

Ultrawideband Cassette Deck

Harman/Kardon presents the "Ultrawideband Series" a new standard of metal compatible cassette decks designed for the tape recording enthusiast.

The CD301 cassette deck offers the serious recordist outstanding performance and dependability plus the advantage of new Dolby HX Professional - providing extended frequency response at high record levels.

At frequencies above 10 kHz the major limitation of cassette tape sound quality is tape saturation. As a result, high frequency sounds can be compressed and distorted. Dolby HX Pro particularly improves this aspect of sound. It restores and enhances high frequency levels while reducing distortion.

The CD301 also offers these special features; Dolby B and C noise reduction,

Sendust record/playback head for dependable performance at high record levels and wide bandwidth; Record and Bias Calibration Tones which allow precise adjustment of Bias Trim and Dolby level, Mic/Line Mixing and Solenoid Transport for smooth deck operation,

. Plus, convenience features such as Electronic Auto Search, Remote Capability and Auto Stop.

The Harman/Kardon CD201 - A new standard of cassette deck technology for the discerning stereo recordist.
