What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Garrard GT-25 turntable

Features for feature, dollar for dollar the GT25 is superior to any turntable in its price range. The GT25 provides music reproduction on a par with the more expensive GT35 and incorporates many of the same features.

Yet, the GT25 costs no more than many of the manual turntables on the market today. The GT25 is an ideal component for the music lover who insists on performance without compromise, plus the safety and convenience of fully automatic operation - at a price that is economical.

The tonearm

The tiny stylus, as it traces the groove , must bear the weight of the tonearm. It is of critical importance that the weight of the tonearm be held to a minimum. The GT25's nine inch, tubular aluminum tonearm with magnesium headshell, weighs just 12 grams. It rides on the same low friction jewel bearings as the GT35. it will readily track records that are badly warped - something tonearms of higher mass simply can't do.

The motor

An advanced development of Garrard's time tested Synchro-Lab unit it combines an induction rotor for high starting torque and a synchronous section locked to the 60 sycle frequency of the power line. accurate speed is assured even when the voltage fluctuates. The precision bearings are of sintered bronze and are oil retaining. The entire motor is isolated from the turntable by special rubber bushings, ensuring freedom from vibration.

The platter

Die cast if the same special aluminum alloy as in the GT35, the platter is rotated by a precision-ground belt, isolating it from the motor . The platter is balanced and diamond turned during manufacture to achieve true concentric trim. These materials and manufacturing processes help to explain the excellent rumble, wow and flutter specifications of the GT25.

A 12 gram tonearm. The advanced Sychro-Lab motor A die-cast platter. A two points record support. The Delglide Automatic System. A specially designed base and dust cover. An unprecedented 3 year limited warranty including parts and labor. There are turntables in its price range that offer some of the features and specification of the GT25. the GT25 has them all at a price that makes it a best buy.
