What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Pioneer CS-66G loudspeakers

40-watt, 10-inch 3-way speaker system for low-distortion natural sound reproduction

Balanced sound reproduction from  a compact, highly-versatile speaker system is now yours with the Pioneer CS-66G. This smooth, clear-voiced system features three cone type speaker units in a three-way design. Its 10-inch (25 cm) woofer, 6,5-inch (16 cm) midrange and 3-inch (7,7 cm) tweeter reproduce the entire sound spectrum with natural fidelity. Low-distortion/rich performance is assured from any power input up to a maximum of 40 watts , thanks to its high efficiency and sensitivity. This multi-purpose sound system is perfect for use in the average-sized home or office setting for stereo or 4-channel. Its handsome enclosure with walnut grain finish is fitted with a removable, carved wooden grille. Thanks to its compact size, the CS-66G can be placed horizontally or vertically in bookshelf or cabinet-top locations to provide maximum sound dispersion.

10-ibch Woofer

A wide range of musical program sources, including those with heavy bass sounds, are handled with ease by the 10-inch woofer in the CS-66G. The so-called "clipping" of low-frequency sound is suppressed to reduce distortion and enhance richness. Since this woofer is especially designed to respond faithfully to signals as low as 35 Hz, it ranks among units in the 12-inch and larger class. It features a large power input capacity and delivers excellent transient response.

6,5-inch Midrange

The brilliance of brass and precision instruments, the richness of the human voice and the all-important middle frequency sound of a full orchestra come through with natural clarity and realism, thanks to the midrange speaker unit in the CS-66G. The back of the midrange is sealed tight to prevent interference with the other two speaker units.

3-inch Tweeter

Distinguished by its fidelity and linear high frequency response characteristics, the 3-inch tweeter in the CS-66G adds a clean, crisp feeling to all music. The overall sound of the CS-66G is further brightened by the exceptionally smooth transient response of this essential unit.

Crossover Network

As in all-multi-way speaker systems, the crossover network in the CS-66G goes a long way in determining overall quality. Pioneer has employed selected quality parts, including a large ferrite core, to create a special crossover network to handle the full audio spectrum with a minimum of distortion and damping loss.

Walnut-Grain-Finished Enclosure

The easily-removable, carved wooden grille of the CS-66G permits instant inspection of the interior of this advanced high-fidelity speaker system. The oiled walnut-grain side and end panels of the sturdy enclosure harmonize with any decor.
