SST System
This is
anintegrated system composed of 4 elements
1-Since the
pinch roller holder is rightly fixed to the main chassis, the parallel position
of the pinch roller and capstan is accurately maintained, and accordingly the
tape always runs stably. (Vertical fluctuaction of the tape is prevented and
thre is minimum wow and flutter.)
2-Since the
tape hub is kept floating by a special reel shaft, no extra friction is added
to the torque. Accordingly stable running of tape is ensured.
3-During
FWD, the pulley rotates only to the minimum necessary degree, so there is no
element to increase wow and flutter unnecessarily.
4-The whole
amplifier circuit is driven by power from a stabilized power source, whereby
that circuit and of course the delicate Dolby circuit and bias generating
circuit are extremely stabilized.
