What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Denon PMA-500V amplifier

Powerful amplifier with practically distortio-free performance.

PMA-500V features:

Denon's Non-NFB amplifier for extremely pure, high-speed amplification thanks to complete separation of the power amplifier stage into voltage amp and power amp

Pure Current Supply circuit with Denon's original bridged block capacitors suppress dynamic IM dustrotion by 60 dB

7 sets of audio input terminals

Electronic switches and ideal chassis construction eliminate external noise

Super Equalizer with range response

Independent subsonic filter switch provided for record playback with ann MC or MM cartridge

Non-NFB Power Amplification - Striking Power with Digital Sources

The PMA-500V includes Denon's original Non-NFB amplifier for extremely pure, high speed amplification. By completely separating the power amplification stage into voltage amplification and power amplification stages,, the influence of counter-electromotive force from the speakers is eliminated. As a result , iy has been possible to reduce all types of distortion to nearly zero, including dynamic distortion such as tim, to obtain high quality amplification.. In addition, the PMA-500V uses large capacity (Pc 100W) high speed transistors for high current drive, providing at the same time both the sharp, clear sound characteristics of Non-NFB amplification, and a high slew rate of ±150 V/µsec

"Pure Current Supply" Decreases Dynamic IM Distrtion by 60 dB

The PMA-500V also incorporates a large size heat sink, a multiple shielded large transformer, and capacitors for large scale capacity (27,000 µF total). The result is a stable power supply with high dynamic power and strength even for the ultra-low frequencies. Additionally, the  "Pure Current Supply"  circuit with Denon's own bridged block capacitor system suppresses dynamic IM distortion greatly for improved sound quality

Electronic Switches and Ideal Chassis Construction Eliminate External Noise

In order to eliminate the influence of magnetic and electrical noise, the chassis construction divides the power supply section and main signal circuitry at the heat sink, thus markedly reducing mutual interferences. In addition, electronic  switches are used for the input selectors, reducing wiring and resulting in an ideal layout to make signal paths simple

Newly Developed Subsonic Filter and Super Equalizer

An ezcellent subsonic curve is achieved (16 Hz; -12 dB/oct) for both Mc and MM playback. An independent switch is provided for tuning each subsonic filter and phono equalizer on and off. Working together with the wide-range 920 Hz - 50 kHz ±0,3 dB, MC). Super Equalizer, optimum conditions are ensured for refined analog disc reproduction

Additional Features:

Two sets of Video Inputs

A rotary speaker selection switch

Real-time tone control with no reduction in sound quality
