What is stereo?




There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

 Three Speaker Units for Wide Frequency Range

Like the SK-1000, this model features uncolored reproduction even at its loudest passages, thanks to JVC speaker technology. This 3-way, 3-speaker design includes a 10-inch woofer, 5-inch midrange and a 1-inch dome tweeter. We've paid special attention to the mechanical rigidity of moving structures, quick heat dissipation and mechanical fatigue, with the use of a corrosion-resistant aluminum bobbin, heat-resistant thermo-setting adhesives, fatigue-free silver leads and much more in the woofer, contributing to overall mechanical excellence. The midrange and dome tweeters are also treated with special care and handling.

 

Honest Specifications

The specifications of the SK-700 are superb, and they speak for themselves, 120-watt peak input, 92 dB efficiency, and 35 to 20,000 Hz frequency range.

Level Controls and Enclosure

The enclosure of the SK-700 is identical to our top-of-the line model, although slightly smaller. It includes two level controls on the front baffle, and a network that avoids coloration or heat generation. Crossover transitions are smooth and natural, thanks to the JVC Phase Moire Propagation Method. The enclosure of the SK-700 is heavity braced for optimum sonical results, with sides and top finished in beautiful simulated walnut to match any decor.
