What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Tannoy D900 loudspeakers

Definition from Tannoy. The true audiophile technology to convince you.

In nature, all sounds start from a single point, with waves radiating out evenly in every direction. Tannoy’s Dual Concentric™ technology emulates this by placing the tweeter directly behind the bass cone, so again the sound comes from a single point and all frequencies reach your ear simultaneously.

D900 Spectacular performance from the flagship Definition model. Enormous power handling capability with astonishing impact and yet capable of portraying all of the subtlety and emotion of music and film sound tracks even at low listening levels.
