What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Marantz Model 3

 Marantz Electronic Crossover
A considerable improvement in clarity and smoothness of reproduction is obtained when a loudspeaker is connected directly to the amplifier terminals without intervening reactive networks. Th elow internal impedance of the amplifier then tends to dampen spurious speaker resonances. In multi-speaker system it would be necessary to accomplish the crossover at an earlier stage in order to supply separate amplifiers with the frequency range required for each speaker. The Marantz Electronic Crossover was designed for this purpose.
This new unit embodies typical Marantz quality features. Careful engineering and high grade construction meke this one of the finest instruments of the finest instruments of its type (terminal board wiring, low-noise deposited carbon resistors, precision components, etc.) A basic two-channel unit, it can be cascaded for multi-speaker systems.

12 crossover points at ½ octave intervals. Adjustable from 100 cps to 7000cps. Separate switch and a balance control for each channel.
12 dB per octave rolloffs with -3dB (non-ringing) "knees". 12 dB down one octave beyond crossover.
Self-powered by remote supply. All 3 dual triode tubes provided with filtered DC on filaments for elimination of Hum problems.
IM Distortion:  2 volts equivalent RMS; less than 0,1%.  15 volts equivalent RMS; less than 1%
Noise:  better than -90 dB below 2 V output
10 dB gain available with balance controls at max.  Normal (Zero dB gain) position indicated.
Cathode follower outputs.

Optional: Dual or Single cabinet in mahogony, walnut or blonde wood.

EISA 2012-2013 Pioneer N-50

Network-enabled hi-fi separates are evolving at a fiercesome pace but Pioneer’s N-50 is sufficiently ahead of the pack that it sets the standard in its class. Its 2.4in colour LCD screen squeezes in a lot of information, including a thumbnail of the album cover and details of the file type and sampling frequency. The N-50 is also a lot heavier than its slim profile suggests thanks to its multiple power supplies and reinforced chassis. But most important of all, its DLNA-compliant Ethernet connection will handle the highest resolution 24-bit/192kHz media with other connections to support legacy digital products, USB audio and external
Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapters. Musically, it serves up a soundstage you can walk into – guitars sound slinky and cymbals positively sizzle as the N-50 weaves its digital magic.
