What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Dual CS 528

Dual CS 528 Fully automatic belt-drive and ULM tonearm with reliable ease of operation.
The Cs 528 is a fully automatic HiFi turntable. It automatically performs all tonearm functions such as lowering, raising, returning the tonearm, and switching off the turntable. This ease of operating guarantees maximum protection of the stylus and records. These operating features are perfected by viscous-damping of the cue control, fine speed vario-pulley control and the cover with variable tilt hold.
Tunable acoustic isolators effectively suppress noise stimuli in 30 to 45 frequency range.
High Damping Compound (HDC) housing. A new material especially developed for this new generation of turntables. High internal damping and effective suppression of external interference.
Dual belt drive. High reliability and long maintenance-free operation thanks to automatic speed pre-selection and the flat belt precision ground to 2/100 mm.
Pitch control. Fine speed control by means of the vario pulley with a 6% control range.
 Stroboscope speed monitoring.
Full size platter with damping soft rim mat.
Two-scale anti-skating control with long precision spring. Specially calibrated to the low friction bearing of the ULM tonearms.
Viscous-damped cue control with easy-to-operate soft-touch buttons. Vibration-free front panel operation.
Automatic cover tilt-hold with continuously variable tension. The turntable can be installed close to walls or in furniture.
The ULM tonearm. Less than half the effective mass of conventional high-quality tonearms. Clearly lower harmonic distortion and audibly better tracking, even with warped records.
The special XM 300 alloy. High strength and outstanding internal damping. No flexuural resonance from 60 to 80 Hz, no torsional resonance from 300 to 400 Hz. Better stereo separation.
The tonearm suspension. Four-point gimbal. Only 0,07 mN bearing friction and mass-independent tracking force. Perfect balance in all planes of motion.
ULM cartridge; Ortofon TKS 55 E with elliptical stsylus. (Optional and extra).
Their tests of ULM led to these reports:
"Navigating  the worst warps we could find, the Dual/Ortofon combination proved very agile indeed, with nary a mistrack."  -High Fidelity
"…tracked the most severely warped records in our collection, usually so well that we heard nothing wrong."  -Stereo Review
"Even a serve warp that would normally throw the pickup into the air will usually give no more than a slight 'thump' … and most warps are undetectable by ear."  -Popular Electronic
"The Dual takes dead aim at the fiend of disc reproduction - the warped record - and response to record warps practically is eliminated at the source."  -Stereo
